You are a Pirate! In recognition of International Talk Like a Pirate Day on September 19th, here is a fun kid's show pirate tune. Enjoy.
Work is kickin' my a** this week! If only I could clone myself like Michael Keaton in that movie. What was that one called?
Anyway, here's some funnies for now:
Not Ready to Make Nice
I can't wait until BSG returns with Season 3 in October!
SPOILER ALERT!
SPOILER ALERT (2nd warning)!!
SPOILER ALERT (final warning)!!!:
Word is that the season opens with a two-hour movie (two episodes: "Occupation" and "Precipice"). Season 3 picks up about four months after where last season left off.
Mediagab.com reports that a Web series BSG spin-off will be debuting later this year. The Web series is called Battlestar Galactica: The Resistance and will fill in the gap between season 2 and the upcoming season 3. The Web series is planed for ten episodes, or "webisodes," as they call them. Supposedly, these will provide some of the backstory so we'll understand characters' motivaions for actions we see them take in the TV show this coming season. There are supposed to be characters in the webisodes who we haven't yet seen in he TV series.
In Episode 3, "Exodus," expect a "To Be Continued..." It's going to be a two-parter.
In a July 13th interview, Executive Producer David Eick revealed that episode 7, "Hero," "involves a human POW who’s been trapped on the Cylon base ship for the last four years, and when we meet him we realize it’s a great homecoming for him because he was one of Adama’s pilots. But by the middle of the episode you realize the reason why this guy was taken prisoner was because Adama shot his ship down. And it becomes sort of an episode about why such a thing would have happened and how Adama begins to believe that on some level he might have been responsible for provoking the Cylon attack on the Twelve Colonies."
Word is that a central character will die in Season 3!
In an Entertainment Weekly article, Grace Park said that one Cylon character will be permanently killed. On Ron Moore's blog, he says there are no plans to destroy either of the Boomers. So, I guess we can assume she's not the one who dies. It may be Caprica-Six. This is likely because a Season 3 trailer (not quite the same as the one below) that was shown during a BSG discussion panel at the Museum of Television and Radio reportedly showed "one of the Sixes getting shot."
Oh, and Apollo will stay overweight for about the first 5 episodes.
Tired
Under the SeaToday, we visited the Georgia Aquarium. It is quite an impressive place! I enjoyed it, but the one thing that would have made it better would have been if there weren't the crowds of loud children yelling, shoving, and stepping on people's feet. The Monterey Bay Aquarium, by contrast, is much more subdued. The Georgia Aquarium is more like an amusement park. Still, I'd recommend it as a place to visit. It is really something. Here's video I took of some jellyfish. If you turn up the sound, you can get an idea of how much noise there was.
Sleepy
Milkshake by: KelisMy mom came for a visit this past week, along with Joey and Anna, the two kids for whom she's legal guardian. It was a fun time. We took the kids sightseeing in San Francisco, to the Chabot Space and Science Center, showed them around the Berkeley campus, and took them to see the elephants at the Oakland Zoo. I posted some photos on my moblog from the visit to the zoo:

Mom and the kids were with us 'til Thursday morning. On Friday (Brittany's birthday), our friend Leah joined Brittany and me in Atlanta for a visit with Brittany's folks. I'll try to take some photos while we're here and post them when I get a chance.
